The Plant Exchange is this coming Saturday, March 30!  There is dirt under my fingernails, and I didn’t start dinner until dark.

A podcast about The Plant Exchange is up on the KGO website:

And earlier today the Piedmont Patch wrote us up and included a link to a column one of their contributors wrote last year:
The notion of a neighborhood plant exchange is just so deliciously sustainable I get green goosebumps all over.
What a great way to spend some of your afternoon — finding intriguing specimens, learning about unfamiliar plants and meeting new neighbors.
And the good feeling lasts forever — Anne Weinberger, Piedmont Patch

That just makes me giddy!  The article, with the link to the column, is at http://piedmont.patch.com/articles/annual-lakeshore-plant-exchange-is-saturday?ncid=newsltuspatc00000001

See you Saturday.

Plant Labels: But wait! There’s More!

“Oooh, what is it?”

“Does anyone know what this is?”

“… but I couldn’t tell you what color it’s going to be.”

And so, we urge people to label their donations — stop them at the drop-off table and have then fill out the blank forms if they haven’t done it ahead of time, while their eyes flash to the tables of goodies that someone else might get to first!!

We’ve had blank forms available on this site for ages.  This time around, we are experimenting with something new.  Thanks to the efforts of a generous and enthusiastic volunteer (thank you, Andrew!) we have generic forms for some of our most commonly donated  kinds of plants.

One size does not fit all.  There are still some multiple choice options.  But we’re interested in making it as easy as possible for people to do the labeling thing.  We have put them up as a Word and Adobe PDF documents and encourage, nay, urge you to tailor them to suit your needs. Look under the “Forms” tab (or Click Here.)   Let us know if you find them useful.

Yes, you can still print out the blank forms, or use our forms when you get to the plant exchange.

If you have labels from previous exchanges knocking around your computer, we would be happy to post those too.
